New Year's Tweaks

Amy Hendel - Monday, 01/23/12 07:33 am

No, it's not a mistake.  I purposely waited till the 3rd week of January because you have probably been inundated with New Year's emails and newsletters, suggesting that it's "that time again, for a resolution."

So I decided to wait until all the nutrition and fitness hoopla, yes hoopla, is over, in order to suggest that you simply make some healthier decisions.  If you really want to change your health destiny, you don't need to make a single and overwhelming resolution.  Just commit to being more aware of portion sizes, how often you are eating, whether you are hungry for food (or something else) and whether you are engaged with fitness daily, yes daily.

My January recipe is from Post cereals and it's a treat you can prepare for your family or guests.  Simple ingredients - 3 to be exact - and you will look like a dessert chef superstar!!

Wash about 20 large strawberries and set aside
Take a cup of Honey Bunches of Oats and crush
Melt 6 ounces of dark chocolate, already chopped, in a double boiler, stirring till smooth

Now dip the strawberries in the chocolate first, lifting and twisting to allow excess chocolate to fall back in the bowl. Place on parchment paper. Sprinkle some of the crushed cereal on the dipped strawberries.  Allow about 30 minutes for the chocolate coating to harden.

Yum!!Remember that a "treat' is an occasional, pleasurable experience.

I ralely liked this blog today! Hoorah for Kristina!Hmmm... well, on youtube, I am kinda like a editor I suppose. I don't know, haha. I take pictures of famous or somewhat known people, or clips of movies or tv shows and mix them together with music and add cool coloring and effects and that's how I make my videos. There is a whole little community that does this on yt. It is very fun and everyone is very nice to one another. The reason I am rambling about this is that I am saying that the videos that I make don't ralely attract a lot of those dumb, hateful comments. Sometimes some people may say, "Oohmehgawd, tis vidoe suxs soooo baaaad!" But basically every vidder who gets those comments ignore them and other commentors just ignore them as well. That's what I try to do. Ok, I don't know why the heck I just told you all this. Felt like rambling about my part on yt. WOOO
